Karen

Karen has been a SAR volunteer since 2007 and has participated in searches in WI, Il, and MN. She currently serves as a Co-coordinator for K9 Training. She has completed her SAR Tech II certification through NASAR (National Assoc for Search and Rescue). She has completed ICS/NIMS courses, Human and K9 First Aid, and has training in required areas for deployment as a support person or k9 handler. She is a member of NASAR and NASDN (North American Search Dog Network) and has served as a trailing instructor and evaluator for NASDN. Karen attends training and seminars to stay current on search and rescue and k9 training.

Dexter

Dexter is a male Golden Retriever born in 2006. He was adopted as a puppy from Golden Retriever Rescue of Wi. He was in need of a job and was happy to find his calling as a search dog. Dex is certified in Trailing (2008-present) and Land Cadaver (2009-present) through NASDN and Cadaver (Land 2010-present and Water 2011-present) through L.E.T.S International. He has his Canine Good Citizen and Rally Excellent titles through AKC. Dexter loves his work and enjoys doing demos for the community. He is a happy guy who loves balls, kids, and water. (Photo by Jenni Bidner)
