Chontelle began volunteering with WI K9 SOS in 2018 originally focusing on field support skills.  She holds a SARTECH II certification with NASAR (National Association of Seach and Rescue) and has completed other required training including First Aid/CPR, K9 First Aid, NIMS/ICS certifications and continues to learn about search strategy and scent theory.  At the end of 2021, she acquired her fist K9 partner, Border Collie Chewie, and began training in Trailing in 2022.  Chewie’s certifications include; NSDA (National Search Dog Alliance) Wilderness Trailing III and L.E.T.S (Law Enforcement Training Specialists) Tracking. 

Chewie is a short haired border collie born on October 28, 2021.  She is a true workaholic and absolutely loves having a job.  When she isn’t training for SAR, she is herding livestock around the farm.  Chewie is certified with NSDA (National Search Dog Alliance) Wilderness Trailing III and L.E.T.S (Law Enforcement Training Specialists) Tracking.
