Caty

Caty has began her probationary membership in November 2021. She has been independently training since 2018. Caty holds a SARTech II certification with NASAR (National Association for Search and Rescue), as well as several NIMS/ICS certifications through FEMA including: 100, 200, 700, 800, 317, 546, 2200, PERS-357. She has completed training in First Aid/CPR/AED, Wilderness First Aid, K9 First Aid, Crime Scene Preservation, Map/GPS/Compass skills, and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care. She continues expanding her training and knowledge in researching and attending webinars on Scent Theory and Lost Person Behavior.
Caty served in the United States Navy for 4 years working as a Master-At-Arms (Military Law Enforcement) and direct ties in the Anti-Terrorism Training Team which solidified her love of helping others and the Emergency Management field. She has many years of experience working with Military Working Dogs (MWD's) in both narcotics and explosives detection and patrol work. During her time in service, she began her involvement in Search and Rescue in the State of Virginia.
Caty's immediate goals include becoming a certified team with her dog, Odin as well as learning the desired roles of both a scout and a SAR team member.

Odin, CGC is a male Belgian Malinois born in October 2016. Odin is a certified Live-Find Area Search K-9 through NASAR. Odin is a cuddly, energetic dog who is always willing to work for his handler no matter the task. He loves going to the beach, hiking, and exploring new places.
