Terese
Terese became involved in search and rescue in 2006 when she joined Civil Air Patrol as a pilot. She also became involved in SAR as a CAP ground team leader. In 2007, a golden retriever puppy (Pip) was born that became her first canine partner and that was her entry into the world of K9 SAR. She currently has her third and fourth canine partners, Spirit and Kirk. Terese holds a SARTech II certification with the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR). In addition to Civil Air Patrol and NASAR, she is a member of Canine Search & Recovery (CSR). She has training in the Incident Command System, crime scene preservation, human first aid/CPR, and K9 first aid. She furthers her education and training with seminars and classes in canine learning and behavior, scent theory, search planning and documentation, and human remains detection training. Besides being a member of K9SOS, she is an AKC CCG evaluator and a volunteer and evaluator for Therapy Dogs International, Inc.

Captain Kirk (ActScent’s Fast Company CGC ) is a flat-coated retriever born in 2016 . Although flat-coats are a related breed to goldens, they are a breed like no other. They are the Peter Pans of dogs, retaining their youthful exuberance and playfulness their whole lives. Kirk is certified through NASAR for Canine SARTech Wilderness Live-Find Airscent. He loves food and games of tug.
Spirit (Pemberley’s A Christmas Carol CD RN CCA CGC) is a Golden Retriever born in 2015. She has her CGC as well as AKC titles in Rally Novice and Companion Dog obedience. She is certified through NASAR for Canine SarTech HRD Land Type IV. As a field golden, she loves to train and work, and will do anything for her Chuck-it ball or a piece of cheese. Spirit loves people, and is a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International, Inc.
